My 2013 Chevy wouldn't pass an emissions test because the check engine light was on. Another mechanic, as well as a dealer service department, had told me I needed a new catalytic converter... apparently based solely on the engine codes. Clark's researched the issue and found that wasn't necessarily true. They instructed me to take the car into the dealer for a software update. The dealer insisted it wouldn't solve anything, since there was no recall, but they went ahead and did it. (Charging me for the privilege... remind me to go write THEM a lousy review next!) I took the car back to Clark's, and after replacing a few sensors that were bad, doing some more research, and putting the car through its paces to allow the diagnostics to reset, the problem has cleared up and the car now passes emissions just fine. They could have just smiled and put in a new part, charging well over a thousand dollars to do it, and I would have been none the wiser. Instead, their detective work and honesty saved me most of that money and left me a big, big fan. You can bet I'll be bringing my car back here next time I need anything. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Great customer service, good prices, quick turnaround for my tire job. Super convenient to Liberty Wells. I drive a pickup but I see that they specialize in Subarus. Will work with them again!

I have been going to Clark's for about 10 years now....with my food truck and 3 different cars. In short...they are they best, cleanest (including restroom which is cleaner than many restaurants) and have comfy leather lounger chairs and the staff is articulate, informative, honest and kind. They are also a "green" company..recycling as much as possible. Thank you Clark's, you rock.

After some struggling to find a good Mechanic after moving to SLC, I have had nothing but amazing experiences here. First time I came in was for an oil change and my experience was pretty standard, though they were more friendly and welcoming than normal. Second time I came in was for an emergency after being sold the wrong brake pads and rotors for my car (luckily was able to get my money back here since they saved my old parts for me upon request). The wheels nearly caught on fire coming down a canyon. They took the car in, gave it a good inspection, and found a laundry list of things wrong that I thought were other issues. They explained how I thought what I saw as leaking brake fluid was actually an issue with a separate gasket and also found an issue with one control arm in the suspension... didn't try to upsell me on replacing both control arms or replacing other suspension parts that I know are old and probably on their way too. Even though it was more than I was hoping for, they gave me an honest quote and let me get back to them after deciding what to do. They laid out options of recommended work with detailed pricing when asked but didn't push at all. When I decided to go ahead with the work, they did it and came up with a couple extra costs that Devon worked into my total quote so I didn't end up paying extra than what they originally told me. I'm just super impressed with the integrity and care they put into customer experience. Every mechanic should strive to be like this place. I'd give em 6 stars if I could!

I just wanted to make a public recommendation to everyone for Clark's Auto and Tire, Salt Lake City. These guys are really good at what they do and specialize in Subaru. I have been having problems with my new (6 weeks new to me) 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX with only 66k miles on it. It had been running at half power - if that - and throwing the P0011 and P0021 codes. Which after reading countless forums and watching hours of videos I learned that they have the potential to be 'd...

My Brakes were making a horrible sound, and my usual mechanic couldn't get me in for a week. They were able to schedule me quickly. (I got their name from two friends independently) They did a great job. They explained everything well, let me know what is "pressing" and what can wait, and seemed honest. Actually, every person I interacted with was genuine and great. I would certainly go here again.

I live out in Sandy and work from 9-5. I still find a way of taking my Mazda to Clarks, because I know for a fact they won't swindle me. They never talk down to me because I'm a woman, and they give me fair prices. Other stores have told me things that are supposedly wrong with my car, and I'll take it to Clarks and usually they tell me what's actually wrong, and it's normally fixed at a fraction of the cost. Thanks for being honest and fair!
